What's in a name...

I thought I would share some insight into the name Loulou & Maxime...

The name Loulou & Maxime is inspired by the Maxime de la Falaise.  Maxime was born in 1922 and was a 1950s fashion icon, model, actress and most importantly (in my opinion) muse to Yves Saint Laurent.  She was also a cookbook author and food maven, and occasionally a clothing designer and as an interior designer who decorated the homes of friends.  Her daughter, Loulou is also a designer and muse to Yves Saint Laurent.

i found an amazing vintage gold belt yesterday and i just couldn't wait to turn it into something rad.  so here's what i came up with last night after a long night of bowling.  yes, bowling!  hope you enjoy!  xoxo

And so it begins...

Today Loulou & Maxime is born.  Motivated by my upcoming 3 month trip to Barcelona, I decided to design a line of jewelry in hopes to make some extra money... so, in just three short weeks I've designed, manufactured, photographed (well, got my pieces ready to photograph by my wonderful friends at Yellow Photography), started a blog, an etsy shop and a facebook fan page... needless to say, I've been busy and I hope you all love what I've come up with as much as I do.  I have been so inspired and I just can't stop coming up with ideas.
